Llewellyn is a designer who cares about clarity, content and character.
277 is a typeface built from overlapping glyph clouds which mask content, making messages that cannot be read by a computer.
The project originated with an afternoon workshop where we built a narrative from a New York Times archive. My story dealt with cloning. Dolly the cloned sheep was born in July 1996 after 276 unsuccessful attempts.
This typeface is based on an altered version of the typeface Prensa, designed by Cyrus Highsmith.
